Staffing Opportunities
The Master’s Study is currently seeking energized and creative teachers to fill tutorial roles for the 2011-2012 academic year. “Teachers” - or tutors, as the case may be for The Master’s Study - are contracted to lead classes on a tutorial basis at competitive hourly rates in a classroom-like setting. Classroom sizes are limited to provide a healthy ratio of student to teacher in order to maximize the total experience for both tutors and students. Teaching and tutorial needs cover all age groups:
Lower Grammar School (Elementary grades K-1-2-3)
Upper Grammar School (Intermediate grades 4-5-6)
Dialectic School (Junior High grades 7 & 8)
Senior Dialectic and Rhetoric Schools (High School grades 9-10-11-12)
Both the grammar school and dialectic schools meet once weekly (Mondays) September through May; high-school classes meet twice weekly (Mondays & Thursdays) Mid August through May. Subject areas under consideration include:
History (all schools)
Science (all schools)
Music (grammar and dialectic schools only)
Literature and Composition (high school)
High School Latin
High School Spanish
High School Math
While a teaching certificate is helpful, it is not required. The Master’s Study seeks individuals who are passionate about the subject matter with related experience – either as a teacher, professional, or through life experience – in such a way that a desire to motivate students by fostering a spirit of curiosity and a desire to learn is evident in their teaching approach. Applicants should familiarize themselves with the classical education model and be willing to work with parents and through the nuances of home education.
